What we keep, and why
Privacy
We collect as little as we can get away with, don’t sell any of it, and don’t run ad trackers.
What we store
- Your board’s settings: name, tagline, footer, time zone, template, colors and logo (Pro).
- Your calendar link, or the shows you typed in by hand.
- A cached copy of your calendar, fetched about every ten minutes so posters stay current. It sits in our host’s cache and expires within a day.
- Your email address, only if you give us one — used for lost-link recovery, the optional weekly “your posters are ready” email (switch it off in the editor or from any of those emails), and important notices about your board.
- For Pro boards: a Stripe customer and subscription id so we know the board is paid. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- A fingerprint of your edit key (a one-way hash), never the key itself.
What we don’t do
- No ad trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, no selling or renting data.
- We only read your calendar. We never write to it, and we only look at the events Staplegun needs to draw posters.
- Events that look private (“Private party”, “Closed for buyout”) are left off posters, feeds and the widget unless you switch that on.
Logs and limits
To stop abuse we count requests per IP address in hourly buckets; those counters are deleted after two days. Our host keeps standard server logs for a short time. We also count how many times each board’s posters are drawn, as a plain number.
Your browser
The editor remembers boards you’ve made in your browser’s local storage, so you can find them again. That stays on your device — clear it whenever you like. We don’t set tracking cookies.
Who else touches your data
- Vercel hosts the service and Turso hosts the database.
- Stripe handles payments for Pro.
- Our email provider sends recovery emails, if you asked for one.
Keeping and deleting
Board data stays until you delete the board from the editor. Deleting removes the board and its settings right away; the cached copy of your calendar expires on its own within a day. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires. To have anything else removed, or to ask what we hold, write to hello@staplegun.app.
