The small print, in normal print
Terms
The deal between you and Staplegun, written so you can actually read it.
What Staplegun is
Staplegun reads a calendar you point it at (or shows you type in) and draws posters, social graphics, a website widget and a public page from it. By making a board or using the API, you agree to these terms.
Boards and edit links
- There are no user accounts. Making a board gives you a private edit link; anyone who has that link can change or delete the board.
- Keep it private. If it leaks, get a new one from the editor (or from /recover if you added an email) and the old link stops working.
- Your board’s public page, posters and feeds are public by design — that’s the point. Don’t put anything on a board you don’t want seen.
Your content
- You’re responsible for what’s on your calendar and your board: event names, band names, logos, photos and any links. Only use things you have the right to use.
- You keep ownership of your content. You let us store it, process it and show it wherever you point your board’s links, so the service works.
- We may remove boards that are used for spam, hate, harassment, scams, illegal activity or impersonation, or that overload the service.
The free plan and the imprint
The free plan is free with no time limit. Graphics made on it carry a small “made with staplegun.app” imprint and the widget carries a small credit line. Please don’t crop, cover or edit those out — upgrading to Pro removes them properly.
Pro, payments and cancelling
- Pro is $9 a month or $90 a year, per board, billed in advance through Stripe. Prices may change; we’ll tell you before a change reaches your renewal.
- Cancel any time from your editor. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then the board goes back to free. Nothing is deleted.
- We don’t generally do partial refunds, but if something went wrong — you were charged twice, the service didn’t work — write to hello@staplegun.app and we’ll make it right.
The API and fair use
You can use the image URLs, feeds and API in your own tools and automations. Rate limits apply (they’re listed in the docs). Don’t try to get around them, scrape other people’s boards in bulk, or use Staplegun to build a copy of Staplegun.
No warranty
Staplegun is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but calendars break, feeds change and computers misread things. Check your posters before you print a thousand of them. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months.
Changes and ending things
We may update these terms; if a change matters, we’ll say so on this page and, if you gave us an email, by email. You can stop using Staplegun and delete your board at any time from the editor. If we ever shut Staplegun down, we’ll give paying customers at least 30 days’ notice and a pro-rated refund.
